Here are some frequently asked questions; please get in contact to find out more!
What should I expect at my initial appointment?
A full comprehensive consultation and assessment of the affected/injured area including your movement and function will be completed in order to determine an appropriate diagnosis. Treatment will include evidence-based therapeutic interventions and exercise, including exercise rehab, graded activity, manual therapy, massage, taping, electrotherapy etc. A treatment/exercise plan will then be created for you, monitored and adjusted where needed. We use a complete approach, considering the whole needs of the clients to allow optimal healing and recovery and placing the patient at the centre of their own care.
What do I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing so you can move without restriction. Your clinician will need to assess your movement and function and will move different areas of the body. These areas will need to be visible and accessible. Wearing shorts is recommended for injuries or pain around hips, knees, ankle and feet. We do provide towels for added comfort and privacy.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you are more than welcome to have someone accompany you to your treatment. For all clients under the age of 18 or someone with special needs a chaperone is compulsory.
Do you take insurance?
In order to offer the standard of care and services that we provide for our clients in clinic we do not take any private medical insurance and all our services are self-paid for by our clients.
If you do have a private healthcare plan you may be eligible to claim back the full or part amount of the cost of your treatment through receipt of payment from the clinic. However, it is your responsibility to check with your private healthcare plan provider if this applies to you.
Are there any age restrictions?
No, at Sport + Injury Rehab we treat people of all ages and backgrounds. Those under the age 18 we ask to be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
